Kavin Hewitt serves as Chief Executive Officer of MCONEC. He previously led the Caribbean business operations of Mozido, LLC. He drove the initiative that lead to the region’s first licensed Mobile Wallet programme in partnership with the Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union League.

Prior to MCONEC, Kavin was Director – Northern Caribbean Region at Digicel, where he led initiatives to deploy mobile commerce across six territories. In addition to mobile commerce, Mr. Hewitt acquired extensive expertise in financial services at the National Commercial Bank, where he lead the project to introduce one of the world’s first instances of convergence between financial and mobile telecommunications services to provide direct prepaid airtime purchase via an ATM. This project was highly successful, involving multiple telecommunications service providers using a single protocol, and remains in use today – more than a decade later.

Kavin has also served in senior and managerial positions in card issuing and acquiring. One of the pioneers of electronic and telephone banking in the Caribbean region, he continues on this path in the introduction of the technologies that enable greater financial inclusion for the people of the Caribbean region.


A seasoned Technology executive with over 10 years’ experience in IT and Project Management, Damion is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). Before joining MCONEC Damion held integral roles at National Commercial Bank (NCB), Jamaica Money Market Brokers (JMMB) and Management Control Systems (MCS). He has been a consultant in the field of Project Management, supporting companies such as the Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) and Advanced Integrated Systems (AIS) in the field of IT.

In his current role, Damion has managed the design and development of the CONEC Mobile Wallet product for the Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union League (JCCUL), assuming roles including technical analyst, product owner and leading the Agile team to its successful delivery of the first licensed Mobile Wallet in the Caribbean.

Damion holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC and a Master of Science in Information Technology and Operations Management from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, NC, graduating Summa Cum Laude from both.
